Hello everybody, Black-Thunder here, and we just got more information about the Metroid Prime 4 Beyond in the most recent Nintendo Direct. I bet a lot of you guys want to get back into the hype train, so let's take a look of what was revealed to us.
So a quick thing to notice about in the previous trailer was, at the end they showed Samus behind a portal of some sort with her visor being a different color. This isn't something that's new for Samus, as at the end of Prime 2, her visor changes to green when she's scanning a device that allows her to head back to the light half of Aether.
In this trailer, they revealed the name of this planet with the lush jungles and the liking called "Viewros." and she is not alone on this planet as there's hostile alien lifeforms lurking around.
My guess is that Sylus would eventually win against Samus in that one scene at the previous trailer where we see Sylux with Space Pirates and is sent to Viewros. The reason why I say this is because in one scene where Samus is fighting off aliens her missile count is 10 in the scene as opposed to 30 in the previous trailer. Kind of hinting that Samus will definitely lose her abilities again in this entry.
Now, when you compare Prime 4's announced way back in 2017, and then jump to the first trailer from last year, the color was changed from blue to purple. I asked myself, "Why purple?" Well, in this trailer they revealed a new gimmick called Psychic abilities.
I have the strangest feeling that this is going to be the main gimmick of this game similar to how Prime 2 had a light and dark gimmick, and how Prime 3 had a corruption gimmick with Phazon. She seems to use these abilities to solve puzzles and deal with enemies with the power of her mind.
The next thing that they showed in the trailer was a mysterious spirit that speaks its own language similar to how the Chozo and the Luminoth speak their own language. It clarifies that Samus is the so-called chosen one.
Sadly, though. We don't have a release date just yet. It's still scheduled for this year, but the last thing that they shown in this trailer was a brand new suit that we have never seen before. You know, it seems like with every entry in the prime games with the exception of the first entry and the handhelds Samus seems to get a brand new suit with each new entry since Prime 2.
Prime 4 had both the Dark and Light suits and Prime 3 had the P.E.D. Suit and the Hazzard Shield. We don't have an official name for this new suit, so for now I'll just call it the Psychic Suit.
That's pretty much it from this trailer. I have a feeling that there are some details that I may have glossed over like the color of the lights for Samus's arm cannon, being purple instead of her usual color.
