Day 12- Field Trip

Marinette and her year are on a trip to the Louvre. What's going to happen?

"The Louvre? But didn't we go there last year." They were stuck in an all year assembly where the heaster had just explained where their annual field trip would be.

"Well yes but we feel it is more educational than previous places so we decided to go again." A few groans could be heard through the hall as the headteacher cleared his throat. "The trip is a week today. You must be here on time otherwise you won't be able to go."

"Such a shame!" Someone at the back heckled. A few giggles spread around before the room fell silent once again.

""Anyway I expect full school uniform. Since you are representing the school we will only accept the best behaviour from you. Understood?"

"Yes Sir."

"Good. Now off to lessons."

As each row dispersed, Marinette tried to catch a glimpse of her friends but failed as the crowds pushed her out.

A week later the whole year were stood outside the school doors. Marinette zipped up her fluffy coat to try and keep warm; it was slowly becoming winter after all. They were separated into groups of 6. Marinette was with Alya, Nino and Adrien (thank god) aswell as this boy named Luka and his sister Juleka.

"Hey, you must be Marinette? I'm Luka. You probably don't recognise me but I'm in your english class." The blue haired boy stepped forward and extended his hand.

"Yeah, you've probably heard all the stuff spread about me." She smiled sadly as she took his hand and shook it.

"I try my best to ignore it. I hate how one person's sadness can lead to other's enjoyment." He dropped his hand by his side. "You seem like a sweet girl. Can't wait to spend the day with you."

"Yeah, me too. Your sister also seems... nice."

"She can be quite distant and shy around new people, once you get to know her you'll see a completely different side to her." He motioned at Juleka who reluctantly walked over to them. She gave a faint smile before looking at the floor.

"Ok, stay in your groups as we board the buses. Once we get there we'll have a quick introduction and then you're free to go around on your own with no teachers; as long as you stay in your groups of 6."

As the bus doors opened students scrambled on, the majority trying to get to the back of the bus. Marinette and the others ended up on bus 3 and they sat towards the front. Nino sat next to Adrien and Alya insisted sitting next to Juleka to get to know her better, leaving Mari next to Luka.

"So, hi again." Luka sat next to the bluenette and put on his seatbelt.

"Um yeah hi." Marinette giggled nervously as she fastened her own seatbelt.

"I went to the Louvre last year, they make it sound better than it is. Spending hours looking at photos and statues. Unless you're in the minority that enjoy it then it's pretty boring."

"Well maybe now I'm here I'll be able to make it more enjoyable." Marinette flashed him a mischievous smile as Luka grinned back.

"I'll bet. You've already made enemies so I'm guessing you have a mischievous side to you."

"It's not my fault Chloe chose to hate me. But I guess I can be a bit of a rebel if I wanted to." Luka nodded approvingly.

"I think we'll get along just fine." He rested his head on the seat. Throughout the whole journey they got to know each other a lot more. She learned about his ion for music and how he was apart of a group where he played the guitar. She even offered to design any outfits the group may need.

After having a quick introduction upon arrival, the year soon scattered and swarms the art museum. Adrien led their group to the Mona Lisa picture.

"This is by far my favourite painting, what about you guys?" Adrien stood in front of it as Luka rolled his eyes.

"Yeah this is great and all but I'm gonna get bored." Luka raised his eyebrow at Marinette and grinned. "Wanna play a game of tag?"

"That sounds fun. Count me in." Marinette put her hands on her hip and looked at the others. "What about you guys?"

"Hell yeah!" Alya clapped her hands and nudged Marinette.

"Count me out, I'm going to check out the rest of the artworks. I'll keep my phone on so you can message me if needs be." Adrien patted his tro pocket and walked off. He shouted over his shoulder. "I'll probably see you around anyway."

As soon as he was out of sight Luka touched Marinette's shoulder "Tag!" and raced away from the group. The other followed suite as a laughing Marinette chased after them.

They lost track of time fairly quickly. Marinette panted as she slowly walked into the Egyptian section of the museum. She'd been here quite a few times. Ancient history was something she secretly loved. As she stood in front of one of the tapestries she felt a hand on her shoulder. She squealed loudly and jumped back in shock.

"Oh my God! Don't creep up on me like that!" She placed her hand over her heart and calmed down her breathing.

"Sorry." Luka chuckled as he rested his arm on her shoulder. "You like the Egyptians eh?

"Yeah." Marinette kept her gaze on the tapestry as she smiled to herself.

"I wonder where the others are. As far as I know Alya is it but we only have about half an hour left before we head back."

"I'll text Adrien and the others where we are." Marinette got our her phone and filed a quick message. "Now we just wait."

They found a bench and sat down side by side. Mari tried to start a conversation but could think of anything to say.

"Hey; so I was wondering if you wanted to go to the cinema this weekend. As friends of course." Luka rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the bluenette.

"That sounds great, I should be able to do Saturday."

"Great! I'll just-"

"There you two are! Come on! If we want to make it back to the coach in time we need to start walking back." Alya grabbed Marinette's hand and dragged her towards the exit. Marinette smiled apologetically at Luka for having their conversation cut short as she let Alya drag her back out.

In all the awfulness of the last few weeks, at least she had something to finally look forward to...
