Sticky’n sweet, spicy’n garlicky tofu served over brown Jasmine rice with lightly steamed broccoli 🥦 topped with scallions. Turned out super tasty & was simple to prepare :yum: “Tastes like chicken!” My son proclaimed… always a win to get that reaction from a meat eater! :sunglasses:

I prepped the super firm tofu by breaking it up into pieces & chunks, placed on a parchment papered cookie sheet, seasoned with a dash of salt, pepper, garlic powder and tossed with a bit of olive oil. Placed in 450 degrees oven to bake for 10-12 min, gave it a stir then back in oven for another 10-15 minutes until the tofu is done and the edges are crispy.

Meanwhile, made a sauce by combining maple syrup, rice vinegar, soy sauce or tamari, toasted sesame oil, 2 grated garlic cloves & red pepper flakes. Heated in a saucepan till simmering, tasted & added a squeeze of lime and the juice of 1/2 tangerine for brightness. Made a slurry of 1-tbs each of cornstarch & water to thicken the sauce, simmering until thick and sticky. Once the tofu was done, added about 1/4 c of sesame seeds to the sauce & tossed in the tofu until coated… eat immediately & enjoy! :yum:  🤩
