Right of age

Only honorable cats are buried with something that represented them in life. Typically, this something that they excelled at. This is done to make sure that they move safely to the afterlife. For example: a good hunter could be buried with their favorite prey, a kit buried with a moss ball as it was their favorite game, etc.

Leaders have a different, special ceremony. All clan will give an item that represents their relationship with the leader. This is still done to make sure that they smoothly transition to the afterlife. The difference being leaders are considered to be warriors with many amazing skills. This ceremony is more personal and respectful.

The last walk

Similarly, the last walk is also a ing tradition to the honorable. However, this is done before the deceased is buried. It is expected that before burial, they should always be touching sunlight. The tradition is done to make sure they are not tied to earth. This is a great worry to the clan cats. They believe that the sunlight will keep bad spirits away and bring them closer to Eldergrace. These two burial traditions are considered especially important.

Gift of life

It is expected to gift a new queen something handmade. This is meant to bless the mother and the kits for good health. Handmade gifts are considered more personal and thoughtful. It is a sign of a true, meaningful blessing. This tradition is similarly very important. New life is deeply valued in the clans. The mother of the kits is also just as important. She is what makes the kits strong and healthy.

Love crowning

When confessing love to someone it is custom to make a crown of flowers for them. This is a sign of love and your dedication you will commit to them. If the other accepts they wear the flower crown. Not making a crown is commonly frowned upon. This reflects laziness and bare minimum effort. It isn’t a good sign to the cat being confessed to.

Test of love

The first day of spring it is custom to give your mate a flower. Typically, warriors pick the flower before the day. This is a sign of true love, loyalty, and dedication. If not done it means that the love is not true. Even if it is true it is a negative sign. It reflects that you forgot about your mate and don’t care.

Ancestor’s call

All cats old enough to catch their own prey sing a traditional song for their ancestor’s every solstice. This is a show of respect to their ancestors. As the clan wouldn’t be where it is now without them. Additionally, this time brings the clan together. It is a great bonding moment.
