Rules

1. Respect will be given to everyone, no matter what.

2. Discrimination will never be tolerated.

3. Refrain from bringing up triggering topics when speaking ooc.

4. If gore or another potentially triggering topic is mentioned in your roleplay message, add a warning.

5. No mating or giving birth in roleplay, it is much easier to timeskip.

6. If someone asks you to stop doing something, stop.

7. If you have been locked for three or more days (Stuck in an interaction with no response), you are free to move on from the interaction.

8. This roleplay will have a plot and time system, if you cannot commit, do not shoot for any higher roles.

9. If you are a leader, deputy, or medicine cat, you will be required to have higher activity in the roleplay and make plot decisions based on in character actions.

10. One-liners and asterisks are not allowed. Each response must be at least a paragraph long (five sentences).

11. You may not be a kit without a guardian, if it is for lore reasons, ask a host or a co-host.

12. Apprentices must have a mentor.

13. All characters will have to age in rp. Each irl week is half a month, meaning every two irl weeks a moon in roleplay will have ed.

14. Half moon and full moon meetings/gatherings are only roleplayed out if there is an important event going on.

15. If you are unable to continue in a high role, please let someone know, so your deputy taking over can be discussed.

Introduction

Hello all! Welcome to Forgotten Rites, a Warrior Cats roleplay centered around three clans; Willowclan, Prairieclan, and Brookclan. The clans have been living together peacefully, with a little disruption due to Prairieclan and Brookclan’s arguments over the river that borders their two clans and Starclan’s Eyes. This dispute has been going strong for moons now, which has kept eyes off of Willowclan’s steady growth in strength and size.

In the past few seasons, Willowclan has been noticing strange and unusual things in the forest. Perfectly healthy trees dying and rotting away, strange behavior in prey, and herbs going bad or going missing altogether.

So as the fighting between Brookclan and Prairieclan slowly grows more heated, and Willowclan struggles to understand the new, strange patterns in their territory, restless spirits may finally be getting the recognition they crave.

Clans

Willowclan

Willowclan lives in the heart in a forest of weeping willows. They hunt rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, and occasionally insects if food is particularly scarce. They camp out in a tree in the center of the forest called Starcatcher, named for its height and it’s time in Willowclan. Starcatcher has existed in the clan for as long as any cats can , inside and outside of Willowclan.

Queens, kits, elders, and other cats that are unable to climb very well anymore sleep at the base of the tree and are guarded by a Willowclan unique role; nocturnal warriors.

Nocturnal warriors are warriors designated to guard the camp at night. This is not a permanent role, and a group of cats is designated every month to fulfill this role however they see fit.

Everything in Willowclan is decided in a clan meeting—The cats are all given stones and areas are designated for choices. Cats will then set their stones in the area of their choice, and the decision will be made.

In Willowclan, leaders and deputies are only there for organizational purposes and for one cat to act as a figurehead for the clan. The leader and deputy are all voted on by the clan.

Willowclan cats tend to not be extremely close, and often cats are only aquainted with each other. They have friends and family, of course, but it’s far different from Prairieclan where everyone knows everyone.

Prairieclan

Prairieclan lives on an open plain and has the largest clan in of land area. They tend to be quick, hotheaded, and impulsive. They generally hunt rabbits, prairie dogs, and other fast prey. Their biggest threat is dogs from the nearby farm, but as long as they themselves don’t get too close, they aren’t bothered.

Prairieclan was the original ‘owner’ of the river, and would often restrict other clans’ usage of it, until Owlstar opened the river to all the clans and officially declared peace between Prairieclan, Willowclan, and Brookclan.

Unfortunately, due to this, Baskingstar declared that *Brookclan* now owned the river, as Prairieclan was too weak to defend it. This is what kickstarted the ongoing conflict between the neighboring clans, and though Owlstar and Baskingstar have been gone for many moons now, their actions have rippled across the newer generations and will still be felt for a long time to come.

Prairieclan camps under a small dirt overhang ed by placed rocks and stones. The cats don’t have designated dens, and instead pile up in groups or all together, with cats mostly sticking by their families except for on particularly cold nights.

Prairieclan cats are generally very close to each other, and their community is a strong one built on years and years of trust, comfort, and . Any kit born is the clan’s kit, any sick cat is the clan’s patient.

Prairieclan is the most spiritual of the clans, this has led to a sense of superiority over the other clans for their connection to their ancestors.

Brookclan

Brookclan is the most aggressive clan in the area, and the smallest in land area. They’ve built their lives around the river, much to the dismay of Prairieclan. Baskingstar, in his time, had pleaded with Owlstar to allow his clan to use the river after it had been lost from Brookclan in a trade by the leader before, though she allegedly refused time and time again. In Brookclan’s version of the history, once she finally opened the river to all the clans, a Brookclan patrol was attacked at the river for tresing.

This idea of the conflict is what has fueled Brookclan cats to keep fighting for what they claim is rightfully theirs.

Their camp is in a small depression around a mile away from the river. Dens are dug out and ed with large rocks and wood from Willowclan. The leader’s den is a large, hollow, and fallen tree that lays on the top of the depression, right at the edge. This also serves as the leader’s vantage point for clan meetings.

Brookclan hunts food similar to Prairieclan, as well as fish from the river to intentionally provoke Prairieclan and stir the pot.

Kits as young as two moons are taken to the river to begin learning how to swim, this has been a longstanding tradition in Brookclan, which is the clan’s main argument for their idea that the river never truly belonged to Prairieclan.

The meeting area for the medicine cats and the clans. It is a large cave with two holes at the top that the moon shines through perfectly, emulating the look of two eyes shining down on the clans, thus earning its name.

Willowclan’s camp, and the oldest and tallest tree in the forest.

The border between Prairieclan and Brookclan, as well as the source of their conflict.
