Let's talk about one of the most beautiful and misunderstood Norse Goddesses shall we.. Hel. Which hel means hidden. Just like herself and the dead she cares for. Daughter of Loki and Angrboda. She was born half living and yet half corpse. So in others words half of her was a beautiful woman and the other half rotting decaying skeleton. Even though half her was beautiful this annoyed and disgusted her grandfather Odin. So he throw her as far away from asgard as possible. Throwing her as far as he could all the way to what is now Helheim. From that moment on she became the goddess and keeper of the dead.

There is still much we have yet to read or know about Hel. But what we do know is she has the power to manipulate death. To speak to and command them. To bring someone back if she so chooses to. She is the guardian of those who have es and retreats to their final retirement. Not helheim is not a terrible scary place. In fact it's just were everyone who was good goes when they were not warriors and dont gain entrance to Valhalla. This is her realm to tend to and keep. If you do alot of spirit work Hel is good deity to use while doing so.
