Hi friends, I thought I should do this post as my grandma just ed away. It's not the first time for me to deal with this type of news, and I manage to do ok.
•
However I know that some people have a hard time dealing with grief, especially with school & college starting again. So I decided to make a post for people who have a hard time studying while grieving.

How you feel.
This is the most important thing, and I'm going to address this first.
You have every right to be sad, upset, or whatever you're feeling right now. Everyone is grieving in their own way, some cry for hours while others like me can move on quicker as they can accept loss more easily.
No matter how you feel right now, just know that it's okay. It may takes time for you to get better, to accept the loss of your loved ones, and it's perfectly normal.
If you need to take some time on your own to think, to cry, to , just do it. Take breaks in the middle of your studying session as many time as you'll need to do so.

Don't oversleep.
I know that sometimes, you won't want to get out of bed. But you have to.
If you oversleep or sleep all day, when you'll wake up it'll be worse. You will feel more tired than you already are, and won't be as productive as you need to be, or even not productive at all.
Feeling however you feel is okay, but you have to that your loved ones wouldn't want to see you fail your studies. Get strength in how positive and productive they used to be, and use that positive energy as a source of motivation.

Your friends are your strength.
When I got the news, my first reaction was to tell my friends. Once I got home, I called two of my friends who ed me and sent me messages. Another one came straight to my house in order to comfort me and spend some time with me. We talked a lot and we realized we were dealing with loss in a similar way. It felt good not to be alone in this.
Your friends will understand when you need some time alone, if you don't want to go out or want to spend the day inside with them, if you cannot laugh with them or put on a smile some days. They will be there for you if you need to talk, someone to listen or just a shoulder to cry onto.
If you really cannot go to class, ask a friend if you can get notes from them. That way, you'll be able to keep up with your education even if you really don't have the strength to go to school/college.

Be there for your family.
This is a small point but I think it still needs to be said.
Studies are important but so is your family. Just be there for them, talk to them and share your feelings.

Focus.
Sometimes, it's better to focus on something else. Focusing on your studies and being productive will help clearing your mind for a while.
You should focus on what you love, whether it's drawing, playing videos games or anything, really, just take some time during which you focus on your favorite activities.
It is essential to do so, in order not to get overwhelmed by your feelings. That way, you can keep your ideas organized, be productive and still manage to deal with your education.

Time.
Now, this is important and I believe this is what needs to conclude.
There is nothing you can do. It is sad, indeed, and you have no other choice but to accept it. There's nothing you can do about how you feel and how you grieve.
The only thing that will help, is time. Time will do its work, and only time will help you get better. Only time will help you accept the loss of a loved one. Time will do its work differently on people; it may takes hours, months or years. But eventually, you'll get better, you should never forget that.

i really enjoyed this post! :sparkling_heart:
I lost two people close to me and I went through a really bad depression because of it. I ended up failing two semesters of college. I’m still grieving although it’s been 2 years. Some days are really just hard. But I keep going.
Just : one day, you'll be okay. :purple_heart:
Thanks for the help..I really need to work on my relationship with my family...
