"Ugh I hate the rain." Marinette stood next to the school entrance, staring at the sky. Droplets of water rushed down from above, desperate to reach the ground. It's not like it was light rain either. It wasn't the type where you could quickly run and not get that wet. Even though it was a 5 minute walk to the bus stop, in that short space of time she was bound to get drenched. Heavy rain and non-waterproof clothes definitely didn't mix.

The weather report she checked that morning hadn't mentioned anything about rain hitting them today. They said it would be cloudy with small amounts of wind at most. Guess they were wrong by a mile.

"Note to self- always have a spare waterproof jacket tucked away in my locker." Marinette stretched out her hand and exposed it to the rain to check how heavy it was falling. Within seconds her hand was dripping with water droplets. "Just great."

She pulled off her blazer and instantly started shivering. Well, it was either being wet or being cold. Neither was ideal but being wet would just lead to her being cold anyway so she opted for dryness rather than warmness. As she went to pull it over her head she felt a hand tap her shoulder.

"Hey Bugaboo, forget to bring a coat?" Mairnette embarrassly squealed before putting her blazer in front of her.

"Yeah. Word of advice, don't always trust the weather reports." Adrien nodded before turning to the rain standing jn front of them.

"If we stay here we'll miss the bus you know?"

"We?"

"Did you forget I was here talking to you?" He grinned before searching through his bag. "Here, wear this for now. Unless you would prefer getting soaked. Your choice." He presented her with a black waterproof jacket. It was way too big for her but what did she expect; Adrien was a lot taller than she was. She gratefully accepted and slipped back on her blazer, resting the oversized jacket on top. Zipping it up she turned to Adrien as he tried to keep in a laugh. She looked ridiculous. But at least it would keep her a bit dryer.

She threw the hood over her pigtails and stepped out into the rain, Adrien following behind her. They walked in silence, the sound of the rain echoing around them. When they reached the bus stop they found shelter where Marinette removed the hood and breathed out a long sigh.

"Thanks for the jacket, you're a lifesaver." She brushed off as much of the water as she could to help it dry off a bit faster.

"No problem. If you need to, feel free to keep it. Put it in your locker tomorrow or something incase of emergencies like this." Water droplets stuck to his face; making him shimmer at certain angles.

Marinette used her finger to wipe a few off. As she went to move her hand back down into her pockets Adrien grabbed her hand to keep it in place. She looked into his eyes, they were filled with hope and maybe a small amount of ambition. She felt herself being drawn towards the blonde boy as she stepped towards him. Her breathing slowed down as she noticed him glancing every so often to her lips. She was about lean in when she heard a vehicle stop close by. Adrien swiftly turned away.

"The bus is here, we should get on." Marinette put back up her hood, helping to hide the blush that was spreading across her face, as they walked over to it and found a seat inside.

The rain satisfyingly tapped the bus windows as the driver pressed on the acceleration and drove away. Marinette and Adrien exchanged small talk. The basic "how was your day" and "any plans for the rest of the week". For the rest of it Marinette looked out the window; watching water droplets fall to the bottom of the glass. She hugged the wet jacket, for some reason she felt comfortable wearing it.

As Adrien got off at his stop he gave a quick wave as he disappeared from sight. She plugged in her ear buds and turned up her music to block out the sounds around her.

The rain continued all week. Even though she had her own coat she still ended up using the one Adrien gave her. She rolled up the sleeves a lot so she could use her hands and made sure length wise it didn't look too long. Everytime she slipped it on she had this warm feeling go through her, maybe that was why she liked to wear it so much.

When she was in art she met back up with Marc and Nathaniel. Since ing the school they had become almost like brothers to her. They only saw each other every so often but they still ed and gave the other another person they could rely on. Marinette had quite a lot of allies in the school, a lot of people who would stand up for her and make her feel safe. Which is good as Chloe still wasn't making her life any easier.

"Hey boys, how is the comic coming along?" She perched on the table next to them and they glanced up slightly.

"Hey Mari, it's going great. It should be ready to publish within the next week or so." Marc replied. After writing in silence for a few seconds he put down his pen and turned all of his attention to the bluenette. "So, how's yours and Adrien's relationship going? You two seem cute together."

Mari shook her head before explaining. "Me and Adrien aren't seeing each other."

"You're not?" Nathaniel chimed in, closing his sketch pad and staring at Mari in disbelief. "It's just that you went together for the Valentine's Day party and you have been out together and classd them as dates if I recall correctly. Guess that just sounds like you're together." He shrugged which caused Marinette to rub her temples.

"It's just... complicated. I don't know how he feels and whether it's the same as how I feel."

"Ask him. If you're straightforward at least you'll get some kind of reply." Marc leant over and squeezed her shoulder. "But things will work out in the end, trust me."

Can't believe I managed to finish this before the end of the day- today's been a bit hectic so I didn't think I would actually post today but thankfully I found enough time to  . Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow for day 27 where a certain blonde girl will be making a comeback :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
