*There is no response.

“So you ran away. Just like that, punk?”

Undyne sighs, as she looks over her shoulder. There’s a long bridge, leading to the other region of the Underground - the Hotlands.

At the other side, just a meter or two away from the crossing, a great puddle reflects the sharp light into rays of rainbow.

“I knew humans are tough. I never questioned that.”

She grips her spear tightly.

“When I heard that a human came, I thought of a warrior - a worthy warrior, who would give us their soul on my request. The world would be transformed completely. All, everyone, would be free.”

She growls with fury in her eyes.

“No! You had to be a cowardly child, that runs away from any challenge! You had to be a coward! My power would have decimated you, should you have not ran!”

She shouts out: “You’re weak, you hear me!?”

“But… if you’re weak,” Undyne turns away,

“What am I?”

Undyne makes a pause.

“You’re a mere child. I shouldn’t have gotten angry at you running away,” she exhales, her voice shaking.

“The Underground is different. Monsters, magic, everything. I don’t like to it it, but I would be scared.”

“Scared, I would run. Make my way by any way possible. Run around the grass, or cut it down. You don’t reason with grass, do you?”

“But even if I took your soul and managed to strike you down… what would happen? Would the humans take notice?”

“We maybe would reach the Surface, but what good does it give, if we’re all slaughtered out of vengeance at the end?”

“You’re just a child. A cowardly child at that, but I couldn’t even harm you. What would happen, if a human, full of hate and power, came into our Kingdom?”

“I wouldn’t stand a chance. Every single monster would die and I would be held able for it. Too weak to beat a human kid, I would be just a nuisance to an adult. We would get wiped out.”

“Would there be any way to survive?”

*heh. just sit back and enjoy the show?

“Yes, maybe that is-- SANS!?”

*yes, undyne?

“YOU DIDN’T HEAR ME SPEAK, DID YOU?!”

*heh, i heard everything.”

“Well, now you heard nothing.”

*ok, head capitan spear of justice of the royal guard defense stuff.

*Shh! That remains between you and me, you comedian!
