On the next day at school Marinette found Alya in the computer room.

"Did you find the letter?" Alya stood up from her chair and walked towards the bluenette.

"Wasn't there." Marinette shrugged. She didn't want to tell Alya the full truth, at the moment it was between her and Chloe.

"Where do you think it could be then?" Alya shook her head and sighed. "Doesn't matter, I can the main parts. I'm sure the new one will be better anyway."

"Thanks Alya, listen before class starts I need to go to my locker. I'll see you in english second lesson"

"Sure, I'll see you then." Alya sat back down at the computer as Marinette basically ran out of the room. She headed in the opposite direction to her locker and stopped behind a corner. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself before peering around. Chloe was taking books out of her locker. She closed her eyes for a second and channelled brave and confident Marinette.

"I can do this." Marinette put on her best fake smile and walked over to her.

"Hey Chloe! How's the art project going?"

"I'm sorry, the what project?" Chloe perked her eyebrow up confused.

"You know, the project you said you needed more paper for." Marinette's smile went a bit more smug. It was clear there was no project.

"Oh, that project. Right. It's coming along great." Chloe closed her locker.

"Could I maybe see it? I'm assuming you brought it since we have art last." Marinette crossed her arms as Chloe looked to the side.

"No it's at home. Didn't want to get it ruined." Chloe put her handbag on her shoulder and went to walk away.

"Listen Chloe I know you're lying." Marinette grabbed her hand and turned her around to face her. "Where the hell is my letter?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Chloe tapped her foot impatiently.

"The one you took out of my bin when you left my house a few days ago. The one I crumpled up. Ringing any bells?" Marinette glared at her as Chloe started laughing.

"Oh that letter, don't worry. It's in safe hands for the time being."

"The time being?" Marinette fidgeted with her fingers slightly. Confident Mari was crumbling.

"I mean, it would be awful if the whole school found out about your crush on Adrien."

"You wouldn't." Marinette stared at Chloe; shocked at her behaviour. She felt like she didn't even know her anymore.

"Wouldn't I?" Chloe smiled wickedly and pushed past Marinette and into the crowd. Marinette tried to get to her but she became lost in the sea of people. The tough and mean Marinette disappeared completely and became replaced with the shy and timid girl she was deep down. She felt tears prick the sides of her eyes as she rubbed them away viciously.

What had she done to deserve this? Well, apart from trusting the wrong people. Chloe was bluffing. There was no way she would be so evil as to do that. Even if she had planned to tell Adrien, she'd rather he heard it from her personally instead of from the rest of the school. But she had time, because there was no way she would go that far. She had no reason to... right? Right?

Wrong.

Really wrong.

It was a few days later. Marinette had been on high alert, unsure whether Chloe would show everyone or not. In the end she had no choice but to tell Alya the truth as she hated keeping something so big from her. Of course, Alya wanted to punch Chloe for her behaviour but Marinette protested against it; given that it might increase the chance of the letter being shown.

The girls were heading to the canteen to buy lunch when they noticed a crowd of students gathered around a wall. Marinette rolled her eyes at first, probably another fight, and tried to keep her distance. But when she got closer that's when she heard the whispers.

"Who do you think wrote it?"

"It could be almost any girl."

"Someone's obviously trying to cause drama. It's clear someone set this up."

"If it's real I feel sorry for the person who wrote it, I don't think she would've wanted the whole school reading it."

Curiosity got the better of her as she squeezed through the crowd. As she reached the front she stopped dead in her tracks and saw what everyone was talking about. As Alya reached her and saw it for herself she side hugged the bluenette and whispered to her.

"Don't react, otherwise people will know you wrote it." Marinette nodded slowly as she refused to avert her eyes from the letter. She breathed slowly in and out before hugging Alya back.

Alya squeezed her shoulder and she guided her away from the crowd to make sure that they didn't realise that it was, in fact, Marinette who wrote the love letter that had been stuck to the wall. "Chloe's going to get it coming for her." Marinette remained silent as they both walked towards the bathroom.

As they closed the door behind them Marinette quickly made sure they were alone as she let the tears flow.

"Girl, come here." Alya rocked her from side to side as Marinette cried onto her shoulder. They stayed like this for a few minutes until Alya started wiping away her tears.

"I-I thought me and Chloe were close. W-why would she do this to me?"

"I knew she couldn't be trusted. It's not your fault, she was very persuasive. For a moment I actually thought that she had changed. But I guess that was too good to be true." Alya looked through her pockets and pulled out a tissue. ing it to Marinette she jumped and sat on the sink table.

"Thanks." Marinette smiled weakly before stuffing the tissue into her pocket.

"Listen, at least it wasn't signed. But I promise. Chloe will pay for this..."
