Day 6- Stolen Love Letter

Chloe found the love letter! What will she do with it? And how will it affect Marinette?

"Right, so we have the basis of the story sorted. I'll start writing it tomorrow and we'll go from there." Marinette picked up the A3 sheet of paper and folded it up.

"Ok I'll see you tomorrow. Wait, before I go can I borrow some paper. I have an art project to finish and I'm on a shortage."

"Yeah of course." Marinette turned around and moved some books as she pulled out a small amount of drawing paper. She turned around and ed it to Chloe.

"Thanks, bye!" She grabbed the paper and ran out the room. As Mari looked out her small window she saw Chloe running down the road. Then it hit her.

"Wait... we are doing collages in art at the moment, not drawings." Marinette tapped her fingers against the circular frame. What was that girl up to?

The next day in school Alya and Marinette were sat alone at lunch as the boys were in music.

"So, you still waiting a few weeks to give Adrien the letter?"

"I think it's for the best." Marinette took a bite of her sandwich. "Plus this week my focus is on that story contest." She covered her mouth as she chewed her food.

"Fair enough. the letter over, let me quickly re-read it." Marinette lifted her bag up to get it out but stopped.

"Oh I forgot. It might be in my bin all crumpled up." Marinette dropped her bag and looked at Alya sheepishly.

"Ok well we forgot to save it when we typed it so try and find it so we can re-type it." Marinette nodded and carried on eating her lunch. "What is it doing in the bin anyway? Having second thoughts?"

"Oh doesn't matter, it's a long story." Alya rolled her eyes and patted her friends back. Marinette replied by pushing her to the side slightly.

"On the topic of stories, how's the writing competition going? I hear your group's awful. Chloe Bourgeois and Lila Rossi. I feel sorry for you."

"It's ok. Lila doesn't care and Chloe's giving me the freedom to write it how I want so I think it'll turn out ok. What's your group like?"

"I have Alix and Kim. We're doing an adventure story because we all agreed romance is overrated."

"Fair enough." Marinette shrugged as she licked her fingers and threw the plastic from the sandwich wrapper in the bin.

As the bell rang they walked in opposite directions.

"Don't forget to find the letter!" Alya raised her voice over the crowd. Marinette turned around and shouted back.

"Yes ma'am." She grinned before spinning back around and heading to her last lesson.

After school Marinette rushed home and ran towards her bin. Carefully looking through it she started to panic. "Where the hell is it!" She searched her room for any sign of it and came back empty handed.

She opened her trapdoor and shouted to her parents. "Have either of you cleared the rubbish out of my bin?"

"Of course not, that's your responsibility. There's bin bags under the sink if you need one. Don't ask us again or you'll get the same reply."

Marinette was about to argue but decided against it; it would mean telling them about the letter and there's no questioning that they'll be extremely embarrassing. Sighing in defeat she slumped down on her chair and thought back to yesterday.

She quickly shot out of the seat. "Oh my god, Chloe stole the letter!"

She grabbed her phone and went into her s. She clicked on the icon with Chloe's face on it and pressed the green call icon. It rang three times and then she heard a long beep.

"Hey this is Chloe, I'm probably working on something super important because you know- I'm the mayor's daughter. Call back later and if I still don't reply please don't spam me with calls."

Marinette removed the phone from her ear and sent her a quick message.

As she hit send she threw down her phone. Surely Chloe didn't steal it. They were friends right? Maybe Alya had been right; maybe she had just been using her.

She pushed all the positivity about Chloe to the back of her mind. There was just one question swimming around her head. Why did she take it? She had no use for it, it's not like she was jealous of her. And if she was then she did a great job of hiding it.

After pacing around her room she sat down and tried to plan out tomorrow. She'd have to confront Chloe before she tried to do anything with the love letter. She wasn't the most confident but the hatred she felt towards Chloe at that point was enough to make her want to come out of her shell. She looked at her clock. 5pm. 13 hours until she would be able to speak to Chloe. 13 hours until she lost a 'friend'.

Until then, she prayed silently that she kept it a secret and didn't show anyone else. Even though they weren't at school social media was around and Marinette was at the point of assuming the worst. Even though it wasn't signed she still didn't want the risk. Chloe knew she wrote it and it is was easy to add someone's name to the bottom of a piece of paper.

"Marinette, food's ready!" Marinette felt queasy at the mention of eating. She had such an uneasy feeling about this situation it had caused her to loose her appetite.

"I'm not that hungry." Marinette opened her trapdoor and murmured quietly.

"Ok well I'll put leftovers in the fridge and you can help yourself later if you need to."

"Thanks Mom." Marinette slowly closed the door and slumped onto her bed. She rolled onto her side as a small tear rolled down her face.

She hoped that Chloe would be the better person and give it back to her; she didn't even want to think about what would happen if she didn't...
